Security — of person, home, nation, and most of all, information — is going to be the issue that shapes the first decades of this millennium. I came across a web release for Symark, an information security solutions provider who offers “PowerBroker and PowerPassword-UME identity management and access control solutions,” which “combine best-of-breed functionality with ease-of-use to limit access to information and systems based on pre-defined policies and privileges.” This must be extraordinarily complicated — I can barely manage to set up a WiFi network that will work with my Macs & XP boxes — but so crucial if you are managing mission-critical information such as financial or human resource details. “Save the Server, Save the World,” I guess is the message . . .
