Weddings

Maybe it’s just my age, but absolutely everyone around me is getting married. My sister Jill’s got us picking out bridesmaid’s dresses, and I just received an invite to my lovely friend Charlie’s nuptials. Plus it seems every show, movie, book I read has someone doing the whole white dress & china thing. It’s actually pretty depressing. Not that I’m not happy for them, especially because they’ve met mates with whom they are very happy, but it just seems like everything is conspiring to make me feel bad about having five bare fingers on my left hand. Try having a family dinner where you’re referred to as the old maid six times — and you’re only 27! Add to that a guy who’s messed your head up about the whole issue, and things get to feeling pretty sickly. If I had the money, I’d buy myself an iolite ring in platinum like the one below, just to wear to throw ‘em off the scent . . . :)

Iolite Ring

Rings, like tattoos, can serve as a reminder of the other half of your life when you’re apart.  Like an anchor, a ring is meant to keep you grounded.  How much more effective they are when they are special, meaningful, and not tarnished by the ugliness of the diamond trade!
